Gentle care for little smiles

Paediatric Dentistry

Dental care for children from their first tooth through the teenage years, with attention to comfort and healthy habits.

Children deserve dental care that feels calm and welcoming. Dr. Agathe Mukamana trained at the Université Catholique de Louvain in Belgium and has spent eight years caring for children across Kigali. Her play-based approach helps children feel comfortable. We see children from their first tooth and work with parents to build healthy habits.

Your Visit

What happens, step by step

The same four stages apply to every appointment at DentRW, from a routine clean to a surgical placement.

1

Book your appointment

Reserve a slot online in under two minutes, or call +250 785 577 189 and we will find a time that fits.

2

Arrive and register

Come five minutes early with your ID and insurance card. New patients fill in a short medical history.

3

Consultation and diagnosis

Your dentist examines you, takes X-rays only if they change the plan, and explains the options in plain language.

4

Treatment and follow-up

We treat on the day where we can, book any further visits before you leave, and send a reminder for each one.

How to Prepare

  • Book a morning slot if you can. Children cope far better when they are rested.
  • Keep your own language neutral. Avoid words like pain, needle or drill, even to reassure.
  • Bring a favourite toy or book, and let your child sit on your lap if that helps.
  • Tell us in advance about any previous bad experience so we can take extra time.

What to Expect

We take time to introduce every tool and step in a calm, playful way. The first visit is as much about getting to know your child as it is about checking teeth. Parents are always welcome in the treatment room.

Who It's For

Children from the appearance of their first tooth right through to the teenage years. We recommend a first visit by age one, or when the first tooth emerges, whichever comes first.
